The Circular Economy brings forward the need for better use of various resources, including materials and energy. It prolongs product life cycles through durability, reuse, repairability, and the return of materials to new uses. Thus, the Circular Economy is much more than just recycling; it effectively secures secondary materials. This first paper of the series explores the role that Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) can play in facilitating such a shift to the Circular Economy.
