GDP growth has been averaging around 5% for the past few years and is expected to remain so in the next few years despite the present negative impacts of COVID-19 on the region’s economy. The rates of development, particularly in urbanisation, are equally astonishing. This is putting enormous strain on existing infrastructure across the region.
