Scope :
This side event organized a dialogue between private sectors and policy makers on sustainability reporting to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by looking at the
- awareness of private sector and policy makers for sustainability reporting
- standards of sustainability reporting such as Global Reporting Initiative
- interact partnership between private sector and governments for effective sustainability reporting.
This side event’s entry point is SDG 17 for sustainability reporting as means of implementation of especially through target 12.6 (12.6 Encourage companies, especially large and transnational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle 12.6.1 Number of companies publishing sustainability reports)

- How sustainability reporting can support SDGs based on the existing standards or to suggest improvements in the standards
- Why there shall be a strong partnership between businesses and governments to create win-win situation through sustainability reporting
- What is the learning from the businesses generating sustainability reporting and how businesses can replicate sustainability reporting models
