Background

The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (JGSEE-KMUTT) in partnership with The EU-funded SWITCH-Asia Regional Policy Advocacy Component (RPAC) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) have studied the linkage between regional development and environmental issues, mainly those relevant to resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in six countries in Asia, namely: China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Main sectors covered in the study included agriculture, tourism, mobility, and manufacturing sectors, among others.

The consultative webinar that will take place on 25 April 2022 will introduce the Regional Assessment Report, regional indicators, databases, and preliminary findings on the interlinkage between SCP and regional issues in Asia. SCP experts as well as interested stakeholders from the region will also provide their feedback and recommendations on the assessment and the regional indicators used.
