Background

The ASEAN Circular Economy Business Alliance (ACEBA) is an ASEAN-centric business-led initiative that spearheads the principles-based adoption of circular economy (CE) by businesses in Southeast Asia in support of the regional circular economy transition. ACEBA was launched on 22nd July 2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia, with the support of the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ACCMSME), the European Union Delegation to ASEAN, the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) and ARAIBA. The EU SWITCH-Asia PSC provides technical advisory support to ACEBA with implementation of activities through its Country Leads in the Philippines (CCCI) and Indonesia (Indonesia Chamber of Commerce (KADIN).

Inaugural Workshop

In partnership with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and with the support of the EU SWITCH Asia Policy Support Component (PSC), the ASEAN Circular Economy Business Alliance (ACEBA) will be hosting the inaugural workshop for Philippines in Cebu City, with the theme Circular Economy: a responsible business and innovation opportunity for Philippine businesses.

At the ACEBA workshop, the team is launching ACEBA in the Philippines in partnership with CCCI, which will be followed by the MOU signing ceremony at the CCCI General Membership Meeting. The workshop will also showcase the diversity of Circular Economy (CE) experiences business practices as input for CE policy, strategy and partnerships of governments, international development partners, and potential supporters.
