The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), Vietnam is organising a Workshop on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) for Sustainable Development to be held on 20 November in Danang City, Vietnam, with the support from the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam through the SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility and the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
SCP is an important way to connect development and environmental issues. Understanding fundamental changes in the way societies produce and consume are indispensable factors for achieving sustainable development. The newly approved National Action Plan on SCP (2021-2030) that was developed by MoIT, Vietnam and technically supported by the EU SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility is intended to identify key priority activities and tasks to implement and promote sustainable consumption and production in Vietnam, enhancing sustainable lifestyles and improving the quality of people's lives towards a circular economy.
Objectives
- Promote the implementation of the National Action Plan on Sustainable Consumption and Production 2021 – 2030
- Review the 10 year implementation of the National Strategy on Cleaner Production in Industry toward 2020
- Strengthen the national network of sustainable consumption and production
The Workshop is expected to be attended by 100 participants from concerned Ministries, stakeholders, and international organization partners.
